BS EN-54-23:2010 Visual Alarm Devices |
Have you heard of BS EN-54-23:2010? It is a new standards for visual alarm devices? |
Visual alarm devices, or VADs to give them their acronym, are devices designed to enable a fire alarm to give a warning of a fire visually. These new standards affect those devices which are the primary warning device, and don't apply to single family dwellings.
As installers, this new standard affects where we place these VADs, and how many of them we install. As ever, we have to consider meeting the standards, your fire risk assessment, and keeping your costs down. We want to work with your to make sure these things are done as effectively as possible, giving you the right fire safety cover at the right price.
We're well placed to deliver installations that meet this new standard, thanks to our being Gent 24 system integrators. Gent by Honeywell are a market leading fire safety equipment manufacturer, and they're ahead of the curve, being amongst the first to release BS EN-54-23 compliant equipment. |
